WOOD SCRAP GUILLOTINE

Scanhugger HK-Guillotine is designed to chop wood waste without the attendance of an operator. With a small footprint and low operation noise, makes it ideally suited for locating in the factory right at the source of the waste. Operating inline with a gang saw, a straight-line rip saw or panel saw. Using a closed-looped hydraulic system, the knife is continuously cycling for optimal output. The cut length is set by an adjustable gate.

FOR CUTTING LOGS DOWN TO MANAGEABLE PIECES

The HK wood scrap Guillotines are designed for cutting long pieces of solid wood, particleboard and MDF to shorter pieces. Scanhugger Guillotine is ideally suited for locating in the factory right at the source of the waste. Operating inline with a gang saw, a straight-line rip saw or panel saw. Using a closed-looped hydraulic system, the knife is continuously cycling. The cut length is set by an adjustable gate.

TURN WOOD WASTE INTO PROFIT

Wood is a precious material before and after the first cycle of intended use. The rising cost of waste material disposal and a growing consciousness for the environment also contribute to the increasing importance of waste wood recycling. Off-cuts from timber production are generally very well suited as firewood, due to the small size, and consistent size. To get the best value out of off-cuts they are best utilised as the resource they are.

CONTINUOUSLY CYCLING KNIFE SYSTEM

Using a closed looped hydraulic system, the knife is continuously cycling. The cycle time is depending on the hydraulic unit and the knife cylinder size. When the knife is at the top position it pauses before the down movement. When the PLC-system registers a heavy load on the down movement, it will return to the top position and start a new cycle. When the knife moves up the hold-down plate releases the material allowing it to move forward. The length moves down at the same time and stops the material when it reaches the set length. When the knife moves down the hold-down plate compress the material and the length adjustment lifts and releases the chopped material.

WORKING IN-LINE WITH THE PRODUCTION

The Scanhugger HK-guillotines are designed to chop wood waste without attendance of an operator. The offcut strips are dumped onto a vibrating conveyor and when the start button is activated, the material is conveyed into the guillotine. All machine functions are controlled by a PLC. The mutual connections of the input and output lamps and their connection with the functions of the machine are described in the controls section.

UNDERSTAND THE PROCESS IN THREE MAIN OPERATIONS

START CYCLE

When pressing the start button on the control panel you will automatically start up the guillotine and attached conveyors in the following sequence: Discharge conveying system starts (if applied). The discharge conveying system must be running before the guillotine starts Hydraulic motor starts and the guillotine knife moves to the top position. When these two processes have been deployed successfully, the feeding vibration conveyor starts op. To adjust the chopping length the length adjustment plate can be moved forward/backward. The knife cycle is controlled entirely by a preprogrammed PLC.

WORK CYCLE

The material is transferred from the vibrating conveyor to the knife. The knife cycles continuously and the cycle time is determined by the hydraulic unit and the knife cylinder size. When the knife is at the top position it pauses before the down movement to allow for optimal material input. If the systems detect a heavy load on the down movement, it will return to the top position and start a new cycle. When the knife moves up the hold-down plate releases the material is allowed it to move forward. The length moves down at the same time and stops the material when it reaches the set length. When the knife moves down the hold-down plate compresses the material and the length adjustment lifts and releases the chopped material.

STOP CYCLE

When the stop button is activated the feeding vibrating conveyor stops and the hydraulic motor within the guillotine disengages and returns to the top position. The discharge conveyor stops with a variable delay, this is to ensure the removal of the material and minimize the risk of material backlogging. Please note that if the guillotine is interfaced with other machines, the stop sequence may vary from the description above.

MATERIAL HANDLING

We produce and tailor fit a large range of machinery related to separation, conveying and handling infeed and chip discharge to and from the production line. Our metal separation solutions ensure the removal of all ferrous particles before further processing.
